20 - 22 September, 2013 - Vilamoura, Algarve, Portugal

Within the International Conference on Evolutionary Computation Theory and Applications - ECTA 2013

Juan Julian Merelo
University of Granada

Brief Bio
Juan Julian Merelo is professor at the University of Granada, where he has been working since 1988. His main interests are evolutionary algorithms, distributed/parallel computing and computational intelligence in games.

Nowadays the metaheuristics research area has a wide number of algorithms and problems. There are many implementations of them, using several programming languages, frameworks and architectures.
This special session aims at bringing together researchers that are working toward any distributed metaheuristics.
The main topics addressed includes any metaheuristic, any non-traditional platform such as P2P, parasite computing, browser-based computation, concurrent implementations, embedded systems or languages, non-mainstream languages.
Issues related to implementation but also to adaptation of algorithms to the platform, scalability and performance prediction are also welcome.

Prospective authors are invited to submit papers in any of the topics listed above.
Instructions for preparing the manuscript (in Word and Latex formats) are available at: Paper Templates
Please also check the Guidelines and Templates.
Papers should be submitted electronically via the web-based submission system at: http://www.insticc.org/Primoris

All accepted papers will be published in a special section of the conference proceedings book - under an ISBN reference and on CD-ROM support - and submitted for indexation by Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index (ISI), INSPEC, DBLP, EI (Elsevier Index) and Scopus.
SCITEPRESS is member of CrossRef (http://www.crossref.org/).
All papers presented at the conference venue will be available at the SCITEPRESS Digital Library
